Calabar South is the southern half of the state capital and the most densely populated LGA in the district, taking in the older waterside quarters of the city and the commercial districts around the Marina.
Its fifteen public secondary schools sit within a comparatively small area, so its Local Government Qualifier is the most geographically compact of the seven. That makes attendance easier than it is in the more rural LGAs.
